LIKE A SONGBIRD’S melodic, rhythmic notes, Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center’s upcoming exhibition Patterns of Knowing explores natural relationships that exist among pattern, information, and the lineage of ideas passed through generations of Indigenous cultures. Featuring works by three artists, Jordan Ann Craig, Benjamin Harjo Jr., and Jeri Redcorn, the exhibition will be in the Mary LeFlore Clements Oklahoma Gallery. Craig’s large-scale canvases draw upon the color and symmetry of Indigenous craftwork, Harjo Jr.’s paintings often depict geometric figures in motion, and Redcorn’s traditional pottery embraces mathematical and philosophical themes that traveled between communities.

Patterns of Knowing will be on view at Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center through October 23, 2023. oklahomacontemporary.org
