ONE OF THE MOST prominent American artists of the twentieth century, Sol LeWitt worked across minimalism and conceptualism. LeWitt’s paintings, with their dizzying abstract shapes and repetition, can appear impenetrable to the casual art viewer. A new app developed by Microsoft in collaboration with the LeWitt estate brings users into his world to better appreciate the work and understand its creation. The app includes a 360-degree tour of his Connecticut studio, rarely seen archival video and audio, and the ability to scan a LeWitt wall drawing at a museum near you and discover behind-the-scenes details on his process and practice.

The Sol LeWitt app is available for both iOS and Android devices. microsoft.com/lewitt
