A New Face

BRINGING NEARLY TWO decades of arts leadership, Scott Levy joined Green Box Arts in March as its deputy director. “The opportunity to engage in multidisciplinary arts experiences is what drove me to make the move to Colorado in the first place,” Levy says of his initial leap from the East Coast to the Rocky Mountains back in 2011. “Green Box has this amazing opportunity to serve as a significant incubator for new multidisciplinary arts experiences.”

From his hometown of Hartford, Connecticut, through the theaters of New York and Maine, to Colorado, Levy spent the prior decade as an award-winning artistic director with the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center Theater Company. Of his career, he says he let the arts guide him along the way.

The natural beauty of Green Mountain Falls, Levy adds, has a significant influence on the artists, the audience, and the art produced at Green Box. “It really does feel like we are at the intersection of nature and artistic creation,” he says. “One of my goals is to continue to grow that feeling of Green Box as a leading site for new artistic conversation, artistic experience, and arts education for all ages.”
