REQUESTING THE PRESENCE of Oklahoma City's movers and shakers to be at the same place at the same time on the same day for an ArtDesk photo shoot requires the kind of organizational prowess possessed by a number of people, including ArtDesk's managing editor Alana Ruiz de la Peña and Lori Brooks and Vikki Penix of Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center. Staging and photographing large groups of people in a building under construction with little electricity (and plenty of paint fumes) requires the talent and experience of Shevaun Williams. Special thanks to Brooks, Oklahoma Contemporary's communications director, who expertly wrangled the shoot participants, coordinated with construction supervisors, and guided the participants with ease through the maze of building materials—all while making sure everyone had their hard hats on.
