The Nasher Sculpture Center previewed its newest exhibition on January 28 with an opening reception. More than 300 Nasher members and friends gathered to be the first viewers of Harry Bertoia: Sculpting Mid-Century Modern Life, on view through April 24, 2022. This is Bertoia’s first U.S. retrospective in almost fifty years, showing more than 100 works of jewelry, metalsmithing, furniture design, monotypes, and sounding sculptures. Among the crowd was the artist’s daughter, Celia Bertoia, who is the director and founder of the Harry Bertoia Foundation; Nasher director Jeremy Strick; and exhibition co-curator Marin Sullivan.
