YAYOI KUSAMA’S ARTWORKS encourage viewers to step out of their world and into her own, and this year there are many opportunities to enter her colorful universe. Eight years ago the Dallas Museum of Art exhibited one of Kusama’s famous Infinity Mirror Rooms, featuring her signature spotted pumpkins. This year in Return to Infinity, the installation is open once again at the DMA, through January 18, 2026.

On the East Coast, Buffalo AKG Art Museum presents One with Eternity: Yayoi Kusama, opening October 2, 2025. Along with three different Infinity Mirror Rooms, the exhibition includes a selection of paintings and sculpture, plus a look at the artist’s more than seventy-year-long artistic history through biographical information and photographs.

Buffalo AKG’s associate curator Andrea Alvarez says Kusama’s “unique and compelling artistic vision” continues to resonate with people around the world. “Kusama’s work remains accessible and relevant for people of all ages and backgrounds,” Alvarez says.

Kusama’s glowing lanterns of Infinity Mirrored Room—My Heart Is Dancing Into the Universe will be on view again at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas, in 2026, returning as part of its permanent collection. In the meantime, visitors can find Kusama’s large-scale flower sculptures towering above the grounds of Crystal Bridge’s Orchard Trail.

In Europe, the Fondation Beyeler will be the first museum in Switzerland to dedicate a retrospective to Kusama’s work. The exhibition, Yayoi Kusama, opens October 12, 2025, as a complete overview of the artist’s career.

Kusama’s work is as playful as it is existential, her artwork titles often referencing themes of time and space while sporting a proliferation of polka dots. A master of the immersive experience, Kusama invites us all to use our imaginations and consider ourselves at the center of her art.
