Dance Party

The Calderon Dance Festival, held in the Plaza District of Oklahoma City, brought together thousands of attendees in its second year. The festival honors the memory and legacy of Oklahoma City dancer Shannon Calderon Primeau, whose impact continues on through scholarships supporting local dance students. The free community event is a celebration of world of dance and is supported by the OK, Let’s Dance initiative of Kirkpatrick Family Fund. Three stages showcased thirty diverse genres of dance, including students of Oklahoma City Public Schools and Putnam City Schools, the Oklahoma City Ballet, and the Oklahoma City Thunder. The dance battle was a lively competition, as dancers from various genres and skill levels converged on a single stage.
