Dance Days

ON MAY 18, 2025, the mayor of Oklahoma City declared a day of dance in honor of the fourth annual Calderón Dance Festival. Celebrating the life of dance educator and advocate Shannon Calderón-Primeau and her vision of accessible community through dance, the festival featured a lineup of dance classes, performances, vendors, live music, and more—all free and geared towards fostering diverse community and artistic expression in young people. Featured events included a high-stakes street-dance battle and a performances by Flamenco ReVoZo and Grammy Award-winning choreographer Anthony Thomas (known for his work on Janet Jackson’s iconic music video for “Rhythm Nation”).
