Artists’ Film International

Whitechapel Gallery / London, UK

Partnering with twenty organizations, Whitechapel Gallery’s Artists’ Film International is a collaborative initiative to showcase film, video, and animation from around the world. In March, they began premiering a new film each Tuesday for online viewing. The unifying theme is language and its connection to place, with selections ranging from South African performance artist Lerato Shadi’s celebration of marginalized language through hand gestures and music to Irish artist Ailbhe Ní Bhriain’s rumination on ancient language from within the scarred interior of a quarry.
